Happy Tuesday, everyone!! It's about time that I got back to my recipe linkup, don't you think?!
I was thinking about what I would post for this week the other day, and I realized that it would be a fun idea to get some wonderful ladies to help me co-host this weeks' linkup! And, my ladies did not disappoint! Please allow me to introduce you to my two fabulous co-hosts for this week:
Britt from 20 Pounds Lighter joins us from Massachusetts. If you're into healthy living and trying to find motivation to eat and live better, stop on over to her blog and show her some love! She's also sharing a fabulous recipe straight from her Momma's kitchen with us today! And, you definitely can't go wrong with Chicken Soup/Dumplings!
Meg from over at Everyday Nonsense is a newlywed like myself, and loves fun things like accessories, her pets and her hubby - sound familiar?? And? She lives in MD, too!! I could barely stop myself from drooling over her most recent Kate Spade (birthday) post to finish this post! Happy Belated Birthday, Meg! Meg is sharing a wonderful Turkey Tortilla Soup with us today!
This week, I couldn't help but share a new (and super easy!) chili recipe that I got from a friend! One of my bff's (yes, I still use that term, on occasion), Melissa, passed this on to me because she knows I love a good crock pot recipe! We made this Sunday for our half time dinner in the midst of all of the exciting NFL games, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! We were thrilled with how easy and yummy it was, and had plenty left over for lunches this week!
Super Simple Crock Pot Chili Recipe
Ingredients
1 package ground turkey (or beef; we used turkey)
1 can (28 oz.) diced tomatoes (we used crushes because B doesn't like the chunks!)
1 jar (16 oz.) salsa (we used about half a jar of mild salsa here)
1 can (15 oz.) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz.) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz.) great Northern beans, drained and rinsed
1 tsp. chili powder (I didn't have any on hand, so we used a pinch of taco seasoning!)
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 package shredded cheese (your choice!)
Begin by cooking turkey in large pan for about 10 minutes, or until the meat is no longer pink. Add the meat to crock pot. Then, add tomatoes, salsa, all beans, and spices and stir well.
Cook on HIGH for 3-4 hours (or Low heat for 5-6 hours). Serve hot with cheese, crackers and/or cornbread!!
Hopefully you found at least one recipe that will help you plan your meals for the next week or two! Do you have any suggestions for how I can continue to Wow! B in the kitchen before Christmas?! Please use the linky tool below and share yours with us!! And, make sure to leave me a comment on this post if you're interested in co-hosting another week's linkup!!
Happy Tuesday!
